Our Story

About Our Founder

Angie fell in love with working with children in her early teens. Angie's mom worked as a day care teacher, and Angie would join her at work as often as she could.

After graduating college with a BA in History and Anthropology, Angie interned with museums, such as the Port Discovery Children's Museum, creating curriculums for school visits.

Angie returned to school for a Master's in Early Childhood Education, then returned to working with children at My Gym Children's Fitness Center in Bel Air. Angie grew to particularly appreciate the value of parent-child classes and began to teach an art class where she created her own curriculum based on a new book each week.

In the fall of 2011 Angie joined Kiddie Crusoe, an indoor play space in Towson, as their Program Manager. In that role, Angie created numerous different classes, a successful summer camp for 3.5-11 year-olds, and special events such as the annual Spooktacular and Who-Celebration that included a visit from the Grinch.

Angie has always filled classes, camps, and events with hands-on learning letting children explore through experiencing the activity.

About STEAM Quest Kids

Angie created STEAM Quest Kids in the fall of 2020. What originally started as an online store to sell crafts and STEM kits online has transformed into a full range of ongoing weekly classes, special events, and summer camps at locations all around Harford County.

Our current offerings include a weekly Homeschool class and camps throughout Harford County at various small businesses, as well as after school clubs at Harford Day, classes for children 1-10 years of age, workshops, and camps at Bel Air Sports Cards and Dance Conservatory in Abingdon.

Story STEAM

Starting around 4, in Story STEAM we start teaching coding! Yes as young as 4, we start to teach the basics of coding using a special robot.  Indi by Sphero was designed to teach children to code off screen using colored tiles, meaning they do not have to read or use a tablet yet. Story STEAM introduces Engineering & Coding Challenges with a story and allows children to develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Pattern Recognition
  • Logical Thinking
  • Problem Solving
  • Communication and Reasoning skills

Camps

Summer and School's Out Camps are tons of fun at STEAM Quest, These camps are held at Bel Air Sports Cards and include sensory and STEM stations, theme activities that include science experiments, coding with various robots, exploring circuits, engineering challenges, process art, crafts, stop-motion, slime, and so much more! Even when we repeat themes we change up our activities.

    STEAM Club and Homeschool STEAM

STEAM Club & Homeschool STEAM incorporate coding with various robots and circuits along with science experiments, engineering challenges, math games, and art experiences. Every week is a new theme with new activities and coding experiences.

    Intro to Coding

Intro to Coding is a class for first to third graders using Wonder Workshop’s Dash Robot, primarily the Path App, and Sphero’s Indi and Mini robots using off screen coding and basic block coding. Every week we will learn a new skill and conquer a new challenge.

    Coding Challenge

Coding Challenge teaches a block type program similar to Scratch to code Dash, by Wonder Workshop, and LittleBits, by Sphero.
