Homeschool STEAM

Wednesday 10:30am-12pm (90min class) held at Dance Conservatory of Maryland

Our Homeschool class is a favorite! This year we are extending the fun making it a 90minute class. Each class will include a Coding Challenge, recess time (to play tag and other gross motor games), an Engineering Challenge, and either feature a Science Experiment, Art Project, or Math Adventure. 

Our coding challenge will vary each week. We will use robots from Sphero- Indi and Mini, LittleBits (coding circuits), and Dash from Wonder Workshop.

Engineering Challenge: using KEVA planks, magnet blocks, and LEGOs

Science Experiments: Examples would be making bath bombs or slime, exploring baking soda and vinegar reactions. 

Art: variety of process art and using art with science. A favorite from last year was decorating craft pumpkins and making habitats (art plus science). 

Math: Measurement, especially with coding, math games (with Pokemon cards), and more!

Ages: 5-10 years of age, independents class.  11 and 12 year olds are welcome but subjects may act more as a review for them.

December Session: 12/4, 12/11, 12/19 $66/child, $60 per sibling

Single Class: $25/child, $23/sibling

Make-up/Refund Policy: Please note no refunds are given for missed classes. You are able to make up a missed class by attending another class time, special workshop, or a STEAM Quest Kit will be given in place of the missed class. If you miss more than 2 classes a STEAM Quest Kit will automatically be given unless there is a documented reason. Please reach out to Miss Angie with any questions about our make up policy.
